Lithops is a genus of succulent plants that resembles rocks. They native to Africa and they thrive in the intense heat and dryness of the desert. To care for Lithops, allow the soil to dry completely. Their thick leaves retain moisture, which allows them to withstand periods of drought. New foliage grows out of the center of the plant. When new growth is forming, do not water the plant. Wait for the older leaves to wither and dry and then resume watering.
